ZK series plate is available in a range of thickness and a choice of overlay material and backing palte combinations with either a single layer or a double pass overlay depending on the application and overlay thickness requirement. ZK overlays are deposited using an open arc process which is distinguished by a wide and smooth bead shape with a clearly defined and well developed pattern of superficial stress cracks.
The microstructure of the ZK plate overlay is a mixture of high volumes of hexagonal shaped Chromium Carbides in a tough matrix of austenite and martensite.

ZK plates have an anti abrasion resistance of 10-15 times compared to an SS400 steel plate. It is available in the following standard sizes.
